31 Days of Victory:{Day17}Fresh Revelation

“But There is a God in Heaven who reveals mysteries.”
Daniel 2:28

Did you know that God’s thoughts for you outnumber the grains of sand in all the earth?
Maybe you already knew that, but lets just sit in that fact for a moment. When I think about how incredible God’s thoughts must be, I stand in awe over Him. I think of how He formed the mountains and He hung the stars and He calls each of them by name. I think of how He told the ocean, “this is how far you can come” and He instructed the dry land on where to begin. I think of how He counts the clouds and gives food to the raven, and brings rain for our grain to grow. Then I become baffled over the realization that He holds all things together in this world, yet still finds the time to think of me.
 All of a sudden my intellect and understanding seem so foolish, so small. I could read all the books in the world and take every college course known to man. I could sit under the teachings of doctors and world renowned scientists for the rest of my life, and at the end of it all, I still wouldn’t even come close to understanding all that He understands.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - God
“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom,and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” - 1 Corinthians 1:25
In light of the above scriptures, I have some great news for all of us! Are you ready for it? …

{Pause for dramatic effect…}

{Drum roll please…}

God desires to reveal His most intimate thoughts to you, in all of their splendor and glory. He loves to share His wisdom.

How many times have you been frustrated over a lack of understanding when you read the Bible? How many times have you found yourself board in the middle of a church service that just doesn’t seem to speak to your heart? How often has religion gone stale to the point of hearing someone quote a scripture and it sounds like the voice of Charlie brown’s teacher?  “Wah, wah, wah, wah ….”

Have you ever felt like you were walking in a spiritual desert, wondering where in the world this living water is that Jesus always talked about? Have you ever wondered where God was hiding and why He seemed to speak so clearly to the folks in the Bible, yet remain so silent in our own day and age?

These are the moments when we need a fresh revelation, a new understanding.

If that describes you right now, will you take a sip of these replenishing words from God?

"See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland... I provide water in the wilderness... to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise." Isaiah 43:19-21

Look at the heart of God for His people in the desert...

"Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness... You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen."- Nehemiah 9:19-21

Their feet didn't even become swollen!! Give me a few hours walking in the air conditioned mall and I'm ready to stop in for a foot massage at the nail salon on the way home. {Okay, who are we kidding? I'd do that without walking in the mall for 3 hours!} But look at the way God sustains His children in a dry and thirsty land. Oh this does my heart so good!

Are you thirsty for wisdom? Are you longing for direction? Do you need a fresh revelation?

The one who forms the mountains, and creates the wind reveals His thoughts to mankind. The LORD God almighty is His name! He will give wisdom freely to whoever asks of Him. He will provide water when your soul is panting. He offers understanding to the simple minded. He gives revelation to those who seek Him. When you trust Him and submit to him in all your ways, He will make your path straight, and He will make known to you the path of life.

Will you let Him show you the fresh water spring in the middle of your dusty desert?
TODAY'S PRAYER: Dear God, please reveal to me your mysteries. Your word says that if I lack wisdom I can confidently ask of you and you will give it freely. Lord, make known to me your ways. I need a fresh outpouring of your Spirit to cover me today. You make a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Father, I am tired and thirsty. You are the only one who can give me rest and quench my soul. You provide water to your people. Give me a fresh revelation, a new understanding, of you and your truth. I don't want to lose heart. Show me how to walk in the light of your glory and never give up. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
