31 Days of Victory : {Day 30} Have Fun

Can you believe that tomorrow is the last day of our blogging event? It’s so crazy how time flies. Thank you so much for your comments, texts and emails of encouragement throughout the month. Your words were really significant in helping me to continue. Now the finish line is in view!

Before we bring this to a close, I would like to share something. Here’s my honest confession: I’m not an expert on Victory… not by any means. {In fact, I would love to sit with you to glean from your wisdom on the topic.} However, by the grace of God, I have experienced it in many areas of my life and over the past 30 days of writing God has shown me even more areas in which He desires to give me victory. Hallelujah! The best is yet to come.

I believe with all my heart that He wants/has victory for you as well! I pray that in some way you have  been encouraged in the truth that victory is possible, no matter what the circumstances. Here’s a quick overview of our journey in July…

On days 1-5, we learned the importance of testifying. The blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony defeat the devil! We talked about how a proper view of God is key to walking in victory. In order to find the root of our spiritual frustrations we have to grab our shovels and start digging out the unreliable fables about our creator that we’ve collected over the years. We talked about how freedom was purchased for us on the cross; we just need to walk in it. Finally, we covered the importance of repentance for victory as well as the need to know our identity in Christ.

Days 6 and 7 were two of my favorites because they were really all about grace. Grace is so important to a perfectionist like myself, who regularly beats herself up for falling short. We discussed what victory isn’t in order to embrace what it is. And we talked about how God used countless people with a past, and Christians who fell short in order to build His Kingdom. He can use us too! We just need a "YES LORD" in our heart.

Days 8-15 were all about the battlefield of the mind, getting dressed for battle {the armor} and getting out on that battlefield! Then on days 16-27 we covered the power of the tongue, the power of worship, truth, prayer, forgiveness, being present, listening to the voice of God, walking in Love and seeing ourselves through the eyes of God. Whew! Now that I look back, we certainly covered a lot!

Lastly, we’ve discussed giving it all to our Lord - letting go of idols - and we touched on issues of finances. Now, we’re here. After 29 days of “serious” posts, I’d like to bring you something short, sweet, and a bit light hearted. {I think I hear some of you saying, “Amen!”} Here’s today’s victory tip:

Make time for what makes you smile.

That’s it. Sometimes life can seem like an uphill battle. Those are often the best times to pencil in a breather on the calendar. Some of my favorite moments in life are the simple joys that don’t cost a dime.

Walks around the neighborhood so I can talk with God

Sitting down to read a book {I hear some of you now, "That's your idea of fun?" Yes. I'm a nerd. :)}

Busting out the oil paints and a canvas

Little dates with the hubby, even free ones at home with dinner and a movie

Girl’s night out {Woop, woop!}

Acting goofy for the fun of it. {I’ve been known to bust out in a random happy dance}

Chatting with my brother. {He never fails to make me laugh until I cry}

Game night with friends or making fun memories doing whatever brings joy to my heart

I’m so thankful to God for creating us with the desire to have fun. Furthermore, I’m so glad that life doesn’t always have to be that serious.  {Can I get an AMEN?}

What brings you joy? Will you make time for something fun this week?

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our final day of Victory! See you soon. :)

Victoriously,

Monique Zackery
